Conference on SES and Health Across Generations and Over the Life Course -  The Panel Study of Income Dynamics, with support from the National Institute on Aging, will hold a two-day conference on SES and Health in Ann Arbor, Michigan. PSID is supporting 8 research projects with small grants. The conference will bring together these scholars and others in the area of life course SES and health to generate additional scientific and policy-relevant findings, facilitate future collaborations including NIH proposal submissions, and provide feedback to PSID about possible needs for content changes and/or future data collections.

Conference on Spatial Distribution of Family Members Across the Life Course -  The Panel Study of Income Dynamics and the Health and Retirement Study, with support from the National Institute on Aging, will hold a conference at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, featuring research based on the newly available geospatial data from these two panel studies. Data on location and distances between family members are available in both studies and can be used to examine a wide array of issues. The goals of the workshop are to stimulate research using these new data and to learn from researchers ways in which such data can be made more accessible to the research community.

Child Development Supplement Wave III and Transition into Adulthood Study New Results Workshop. -  A workshop featuring the use of new data from the third wave of the Child Development Supplement and the Transition into Adulthood study will be held at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with support from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute on Child Health and Human Development and the Economic Research Service of the United States Department of Agriculture.

Two-day Conference on Pensions, Private Accounts, and Retirement Savings over the Life Course, November 20 - 21, 2008. The Panel Study of Income Dynamics, with support from the National Institute on Aging, held a two-day conference on life course financial well-being November 20-21, 2008 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. PSID supported 5 research projects with small grants. The conference brought together these scholars and others in the area of life course financial well-being to generate additional scientific and policy-relevant findings, facilitate future collaborations including NIH proposal submissions, and provide feedback to PSID about possible needs for content changes and/or future data collections.

The PSID hosted a two-day conference on the Event History Calendar Method for the U.S. Census Bureau on December 5 - 6, 2007 in Washington, DC. The goal of the conference was to provide scientific expertise to the Census in the enhancement of the SIPP in the area of event history calendars as a data collection tool.

The Centre for Longitudinal Studies (CLS) at the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), University of London, is hosting the International Conference on Child Cohort Studies, September 12-14, 2006 at Catherine's College, Oxford, England. The objective of the conference is to promote communication and comparison between those designing, conducting and analyzing large-scale birth cohort studies in different countries that began around the turn of the new millennium.
